Marga Pembangunan Jaya Foundation

Educating the nation is a national development goal, but is not only the government’s duty: the private sector shares that responsibility. As the Jaya Group’s corporate profits grew and its business expanded, its founders conceived of a foundation encompassing all the Group’s business units that would enhance social life and education, and have a long-term impact on improve the welfare of its members, in this case all the Jaya Group’s employees. This was what inspired the idea to establish the Marga Pembangunan Jaya Foundation.

The Foundation was originally established as the PT Pembangunan Ibukota Jakarta Raya Employee Welfare Foundation on July 20, 1965 by Dr. Ir Ciputra, Ir Soekrisman and Ir Hiskak Secakusuma, MM. To this day, the members of the Foundation are the business units of the Jaya Group. The hope is that this noble purpose will set the course for the planning and implementation of the Foundation’s programs and activities.
